Fossil fuel-based dyes are commonly used in the textile industry, but they present environmental concerns due to their non-biodegradable nature and use of harmful chemicals. While natural alternatives exist, they often lack colourfastness, and therefore require more chemicals to secure them to fabrics, making them less eco-friendly. 

Newera Bio provides an innovative solution: bio-based dyes with robust natural binding properties, requiring reduced water and chemical inputs. These dyes are created through fermentation and their colourfastness is enhanced using proprietary technology. They are biodegradable, free of harmful chemicals and are designed to integrate into existing workflows, offering convenient drop-in solutions.

Key achievements over the nine-month program: 

• Biodegradability and toxicity testing completed and passing relevant thresholds
