Round 3: Driving climate smart transport and mobility (coming soon)

Transportation is an integral part of modern life, powering national economies and facilitating global exchange. However, the transportation sector contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions and places high demands on our finite mineral and other resources.

Beyond environmental impacts, noise pollution, air quality, urban congestion, and challenges with vehicle safety, reliability, and accessibility affect individuals, industries, and communities worldwide.

To build a more sustainable, efficient, equitable, and safer transportation sector, we need deployable solutions across supply chains. This will require a multi-faceted approach, with investment in R&D and the scale-up of innovative technologies.

Climate smart transportation and mobility goes beyond simply improving vehicles; it requires we reimagine how we produce, power and use them. This calls for a global search for novel solutions that are economical and have potential for easy adoption in the mainstream.

Round 3 of the RISE Accelerator seeks Climate Smart Transport and Mobility technologies, ranging from low-carbon transportation to connected mobility solutions, with passenger, industrial, land, sea or air applications. Areas of focus include:
  • Alternative fuels for transport
  • Electric, hybrid and alternate fuel motors, vehicles and components
  • Electric, hybrid and alternate fuel vehicle charging, storage, distribution and refuelling systems
  •  Smart vehicle-to-grid integration technology
  • Technologies and components to improve conventional vehicle energy efficiency
  • Integrated, intelligent transport management systems
  • Road and transport safety
  • Connected, unmanned or autonomous vehicles  and systems
  • Micromobility
  • Mobility as a service, Mobility on Demand or Shared Demand
